Providing Top-Notch Legal Representation

The Legal Temple is a distinguished, student-led organization within the Faculty of Law at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).

Founded in 2005, the Temple emerged from a courageous initiative by law students determined to resist an unpopular student insurance policy introduced by the Student Union Government.

What began as a legal response to injustice quickly evolved into a formidable intellectual and activist body. The founding members—led by Dele Kuboye (aka Lord Carrington)—included passionate law students like Akinyemi Omoware, Seun Odunlami, Akinkuotu Victor, Victor Ayeni, Obademi Abiodun, and Akinwale Akintomiwa.

Their decisive legal victory in BAWA vs. SUG marked the beginning of a powerful movement. That case led to the abolishment of the policy and the refunding of fees — cementing The Legal Temple as a guardian of student rights.

WHO WE ARE

For Justice and Professionalism

From the beginning, The Legal Temple was designed to be conservative, elitist, and intellectually driven, admitting only the best minds from the Faculty of Law. Membership was structured to ensure balanced representation across levels, reflecting a deliberate vision of
continuity and excellence.

The Temple has played a central role in student litigation, political activism, and intellectual discourse. It was responsible for high-profile cases such as Otunba vs. Faculty of Arts Students’ Association, Famakinwa vs. NUESA, and SRC vs. SUG Presidents.

Often, Dons represented both sides, further demonstrating their mastery of legal advocacy. Beyond courtrooms, Dons shaped student governance, activism, and thought leadership—consistently producing top-ranking Student Union Chief Judges and political figures.
